The Greatmaker STORY
Meet the founder of Greatmaker, Sam Wright, a golfer from Nottingham who fell in love with golf at an early age, breaking a course record at 15 and being selected for the England squad. This success encouraged him to turn professional in his early twenties, but unfortunately the financial stresses of tour life would take its toll triggering bipolar and consequently robbing him of his best playing years.
Sam’s journey back to golf was a long one, completing a degree at Bradford University and a masters at St Andrews University where his love of golf returned as did a new path....
This experience was his motivation behind Greatmaker, a golf clothing brand established in The Home of Golf. Designed for a champions mindset with the belief that every golfer has greatness within them.
Golfers can now benefit from a golf platform to unlock their true potential. Unlike other golf brands we work directly with our ambassadors bringing real life and professional experience to elevate their golf game.
Personal statement:
I recognised the mental challenges I faced whilst unique were not so dissimilar as those shared my many other elite golfers and the wider golfing community. This was the motivation behind Greatmaker.
I still have aspirations to compete professionally and I hope my story resonates with anyone trying to succeed in sport.
